In Antalya, a company that provides ambulance and funeral services has designed a funeral vehicle that works like a morgue. Ayhan Korkmaz, Director of Hızır Ambulance, said that they realized the project within 4 months and said that they could use the funeral vehicle as a morgue at the same time.

Korkmaz stated that they sometimes have problems with the funerals sent abroad.

FIRST IN TURKEY

Ayhan Korkmaz, Director of Hızır Ambulance, “While the vehicle is in motion, it converts the 12 volt electricity it receives from the battery to 220, the engine inside is running. While the engine is running, there is also a fan at the top, the air inside is changed to prevent the engine from getting hot. The vehicle does not consume much fuel in this way.” he said. Saying that in the old system, they had to take the body to the morgue after receiving it, Korkmaz said that the morgues were often outside the living space, and this caused the owners of the bodies to travel to and from. Noting that as a funeral company, they were considering a system to overcome these problems, Korkmaz said: “While we were thinking about what we can do about this, such an idea came to our mind. While designing the vehicle, the aim was to be both economical and comfortable in design. This vehicle is the morgue system we know. It works with an isolation system. Opened covers are made with an isolation system to prevent air.

Noting that cooling is provided even when the vehicle is stationary as a result of the electrical operation of the vehicle, Korkmaz said: “The air conditioner does not cool the vehicles in the old system. “This is also a huge cost. That’s why this system is not used. However, the vehicle we designed already works like a morgue.”
